Club Policy
The Club prides itself on being friendly and supportive, especially to new members. At Sharks Cycle Club no one is ever left behind on a ride. If a flat should occur, help is always at hand.
Please note
If you do not belong to a cycling club, and are therefore not a licensed rider, you join this ride at your own risk. Riding in a group requires certain skills, and a respect for the other cyclists. While every effort is made to make club activities as safe as possible, the reality is that we are riding on public roads and all the normal associated risk that come with it, OBEY ALL THE ROAD RULES. Make yourself known to the group before leaving on the ride. Do not hesitate to contact the club for further information.
Key Rules Regarding Cycling
- Cyclist must obey of road rules while on the roads
- If there is a designated bicycle lane, a cyclist must ride in it unless it is impracticable to do so.
- A cyclist must not ride alongside more that one other rider unless overtaking other riders
- A cyclist can ride on any road unless there is no bicycles sign, or a no bicycles road marking.
- A cyclist must not cause a traffic hazard by moving into the path of a driver or pedestrian
- A cyclist must not ride at night, or in hazardous weather conditions causing reduced viability, unless the bicycle or rider has lights and a reflector on the bicycle
- A cyclist must not cross a road on a foot crossing or pedestrian crossing unless there are bicycle crossing lights.
- A cyclist must wear an approved bicycle helmet securely fitted and fastened on the riders head.

5:00am – Cleveland Pool, Speed work around Raby Bay and Cleveland. Repeat sets up Sizzler Hill great for building strength and endurance during the race, suitable for all levels. Contact: John Dixon 0418 708 395
Wednesday

4:45am – Victoria Point Mobil (start),
5:00am – Cleveland City Center Roundabout (Pickup Point)
Recovery ride steady ride pace for proximally 35km – Combined North/South Ride, Ride to Cleveland then to Cleveland Point and back to Victoria Point with Cleveland Riders then riding back to Cleveland after a loop of Victoria Point. Adults can train 5.30am Mon Tues Thurs Fri $20 a month….
Cross Training

Moreton Bay Girls College. Wondall Road Manly.
Children joining in squad, $90 a month. If they are seniors (going to high school) this includes going to morning sessions and doing gym sessions before training twice a week. All Juniors learn how to stretch, they are required to do 15 minutes before training. Every kid gets timed, the older kids get to swim against bungy cord and they have drag swimming. Every Junior gets told what they are doing wrong (stroke correction). Sessions are 3:30-5pm or 4:30 -6:30pm approximately depending on age.
